Who is Auntie G?

My name is Georgina and I am the Animal Aunt.

Born in England where I lived until I was 18, then immigrated to the United States.  I served just over five years in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1981.  After my discharge I spent a few years travelling around the United States, then moved back to England where I earned my British Horse Society Stage I (basic care and riding skills qualification).  Returned to the U.S. in 1996.

Why A Pet Care Business?

I have always been passionate about animals.  I was laid off from the same career in International Exporting for the second time in as many years.  A close friend of mine and fellow pet owner pointed out that this was my chance to do something that I loved for a living, and suggested that I channel my love of animals into a pet care business.  So I started my own pet sitting business in 2002 and in 2003 registered my Assumed Business Name of Animal Aunt Professional Pet Sitting Service.

Employees?

When I created this service - this Sole Proprietorship - I was owner and operator - completely hands on.  My business statement and goal is to always provide personalized "Caring, full-service pet care, for when you can't be there".  Thanks to word of mouth my client list quickly grew from one to one hundred clients, so I hired "Aunties", friends & acquaintances that I trust, who have integrity and work on an Independent Contractor basis.  These are people I have known for many years and who I know well.  Hand picked by me, they provide the same personalized care and quality service that my clients are used to receiving from me.  However, I still prefer to be "hands on" and I make myself available to personally help as many pet owners as I can with their pet care needs.
